Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We’ll be updating our 25 days of Christmas activities soon and will be sure to share our holiday celebrations!
Our Christmas adventure continues! As always, a ton of pictures.
Day 9: Gingerbread Houses
On Wednesday, we had some of our neighbor friends over for Gingerbread houses. Everyone had fun and Addy loved it!
All of our Decorating Goodies Taste Testing She quickly realized things were edible and enjoyed herself. Our Friends Houses She smeared icing all over her head, it’s royal icing and as hard as a rock. Our Gingerbread House
Day 10: Shopping/Play dough
Addy and I did some Christmas shopping and errands today. I also made peppermint play dough, but some one never got around to playing with it! No pictures today!
Addy loved playing with her peppermint play dough! She did such a great job and only tried to eat it once. It smelled wonderful and was super easy to make. Here’s the recipe I used. Trying to eat it.
We aslo made salt dough ornaments. We decorated them later in the week. They are beautiful! 🙂We finished our Christmas ornaments a few days later. I was feeling pretty daring and it was gorgeous weather outside so I let her paint them. It was our first time using paint and she loved it! She used a brush mostly and only tried eating it once and did a great job staying put near the paint and not making a mess for me to clean up! We also enjoyed playing with some ornaments that I found at the Dollar Spot at Target.
Day 12: German Market
On Saturday we took an adventure to Tomball for their Christmas German Market. It was way bigger than I thought. Their were cute shopping vendors, beer, german and polish food, people dressed up, and music. It was great fun! We stayed for about 2 hours and left right before it started raining. Addy loved the potato and cheese pierogi that we shared for lunch, she would have made her name sake proud!
Day 13: Making Toffee
It’s not Christmas with out toffee. Making toffee is a tradition in my family on my Dad’s side. I remember my dad stirring the pot over the stove when I was little and now my mom has taken over the toffee making duty. I love the way that it smells as its cooking and of course it tastes delicious! The smell of toffee is the smell of Christmas! Addy loved watching me stir!
Day 14: Hot Coco
We made hot chocolate after Addy’s dinner. She loved getting her own cup and stirring it with the peppermint stick. She approved of the hot chocolate and was a tad bit upset when her drink was all gone.
Day 15: Lunch with Dad, Gifts to Neighbors, & Celebrating at Home
We met Taylor at work for lunch and looked at all the pretty Christmas decor. It was so nice out that we ate outside by the fountains and then looked at the cool trees. Later in the afternoon we delivered toffee to friends in the neighborhood. After dinner, Addy opened a few presents from us(clothes for colder weather!) and one from her aunt and uncle.

Day 16: Christmas Movies
After I couldn’t get our DVD player going with some classic Christmas movies, we found the perfect movie for Addy, Santa Paws! She doesn’t get to watch tv except for ESPN and sports on the weekends with Dad so this was a treat. She loved that it was festive and their were dogs. It was pretty cute watching her.
Here’s an update to last weeks art project!
It’s that time of year again, we’re celebrating the 25 days of Christmas in our family! Christmas is one of my favorite holidays of the year and I can already tell it’s also going to be one of Addy’s. She is in awe of all things Christmas, it’s adorable. I love carrying out family traditions from when I was younger and creating new ones with our family. You can re-read about last years 25 Days of Christmas here, here, here, here, here. (Check out how little Addy was last year, holy cow!)
*Beware, these posts are very picture heavy! Most pictures are taken with my iphone!*
Day 1: Buy Christmas Tree
We picked the prettiest and biggest one we could find. In awe at Lowe’s This is what she was staring at. The dog. She’s obsessed with dogs. Grandpa and I took turns getting the tree ready to go in the stand. He did most of the hard part. It’s so big!
Day 2: Decorate the House
We spent most of the day decorating around the house. Addy loved helping with the trees. She has done a fabulous job being careful around them and we are very lucky. She helped hang some ornaments and loves looking at them. The ornaments are strategically places where all the glass and breakable ones are near the top and non breakables are towards the bottom. We have a small tree and wreath outside, a tree upstairs, a big tree downstairs, and decor throughout the house. Addy loves all the lots and gets upset when things aren’t shining bright all the time!

When my Mom and I went shopping when she was here we spotted the following Christmas decoration and both immediately said Addy would love it. Nana made the purchase right then and there. Needless to say, its a hit! Addy walks down every morning and demands the lights to be turned on and pets it. It’s hilarious.
Day 3: Craft Projects
We started our craft project, but it’s still a work in progress. I had a major mom fail and have forgotten some buy some of the paint colors that are needed to finish the project!
Day 4: Peanut Blossom Cookies and Party
On Friday, Addy and I made Peanut Blossom cookies. These are one of Taylor’s favorite cookies and Addy loved them too. She helped make this by scooping and dumping the flour and sugar. Watching the mixer and taste testing are high on her list too! Later in the evening Taylor had his work holiday party. We both enjoyed an evening out while Grandma and Grandpa babysat.
Day 5: Family Pictures and Party
We took our family pictures for our Christmas card. Here’s a sneak peak! We also attended our neighborhood party and had our first meeting with Santa for this holiday season. Addy was not a fan, but she has a pretty classic picture!
Day 6: Christmas Lights
Addy and I went on a Christmas light walk around the neighborhood. She loves lights!
Day 7: Children’s Museum Party
We went on an adventure downtown to the Children’s museum. Addy was given a membership for her birthday and they hosted a special holiday party tonight. This museum is amazing and this event was wonderful! She met Santa, made a gingerbread man, did some crafts, danced, ate, and explored.
Day 8: Christmas Stories
We had a fabulous Thanksgiving with a house full of family! We woke up and started our morning with a baked pumpkin french toast and the Macy’s day parade.
Our Thanksgiving meal prep started for the day shortly after breakfast. All day we lounged around the house, cooked, biked, played at the park and watched football. I forgot to take pictures of all of our food throughout the day, but everything was super tasty!
