Thanksgiving was filled with family, friends, food and fun this year. Traveling back home to Indiana, our first stop in the “region” was dinner at El Taco Real, a family favorite meal. Every time we eat here we meet friends that we haven’t seen in a long time, it’s totally the place to go for that sense of nostalgia. My mom says the decor, menu and waitresses haven’t changed since I’ve been born. I totally believe her and that’s why we love it!
We spent Thanksgiving morning and afternoon at Mary’s parents where the focus of the day was food, sales ads, and laying on the couch watching football. Breakfast was homemade pumpkin cinnamon rolls(good job mom!) and Quiche. Family joined us for dinner cooked and prepared deliciously! Yum! After linnder(lunch/dinner), we headed to south to Taylor’s parents.
We were so lucky to have two Thanksgiving dinners! Our Thanksgiving #2 was with Taylor’s parents and Grandparents on Friday and it was delcious! Friday we spent the day bumming around and shopping. In the evening, we met up with our friends at Harry’s(our favorite college bar) for some low key catching up.
Saturday was the big Purdue vs Indiana football match up and it happened to be freezing! Our carry on bags for our flight home were pretty much filled to capacity with warm weather gear for this day. We made it to the intramural fields bright and early to tailgate. The food and drink were plentiful(as usual). It was a great time to catch up with friends and family. And, of course it was great that Purdue won too! Boiler Up!
Sunday morning started with breakfast at Triple XXX and we headed back to Chicago shortly after to catch our flight.
It was the perfect Thanksgiving getting to see all of our family and friends!
