Camping in Shenandoah National Park

Last weekend we went camping in Shenandoah National Park. It’s about a two and a half hour drive west from us and great ‘let’s get out of the city’ spot. We left Friday afternoon and came back Sunday. We stayed in the Big Meadows campground. One bummer was that most of the leaves had already fallen and changed. The prior weekend would have been even more beautiful, oh well. The weather got pretty chilly, it’s a good thing that Taylor is a fire making expert. I think we went through about 6 bundles of wood! We cooked our meals, ate s’mores, hiked, and relaxed. Overall, quality weekend!

Taylor Starting our morning fire. Thank goodness or we would have froze!

Breakfast! Eggs, bacon, avocado and some strawberries…YUM!

Saturday afternoon we hiked the Lewis Falls Trail. There was a little fall at then end. The hike was about 3 miles…just long enough!

Mmm….wine while camping!

Mmm…s’mores!
